Focusing on the most important flamenco artists living in the United States, the documentary offers a unique look at their creative process.

This documentary brings us straight into the heart of flamenco in the U.S. and to the artists who keep it alive, featuring Jose Greco, Carmela Greco, Dame Libby Komaiko and the Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater, Edwin Aparicio, Ricardo Marlow, Jesus Montoya, Barbara Martinez, Rebeca Tomas, Elba Hevia y Vaca, Marija Temo, Manolo Leiva, Maria Benitez, Joaquin Encinias, among others.

Carolina Loyola-Garcia, the Director, has been a stage performer for many years, as a flamenco dancer and as an actress. Currently considers herself a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and educator. Her work has been shown in galleries, art events, and film/video festivals both in the United States and abroad.

As said earlier, the documentary is included in FLAMENCO FILM FEST CHICAGO 2015 program, and will be showed at Northeastern university next monday march 2nd. Don’t miss it if you have the opportunity.

FLAMENCO FILM FEST was born in New York last 2014 to show around the USA the best documentary films on Flamenco.

Our greatest contribution is the use of image and the unlimited resources of audiovisual arts to break the boundaries of stage and present Flamenco as what it is: an art of the people, heritage of men and women from all conditions, who expand it everyday in the most heterogeneous contexts.

Those who love Flamenco will find in the movies a new perspective of what they perhaps know. And for those that still don’t know Flamenco, documentaries are an opportunity to bring the audience of cinema closer to this ancient art, that will captivate them forever.

This days we are planning our second edition to take place in New York this 2015 and first stop in Chicago, where we will be showing our program this february whithin the events of CHICAGO FLAMENCO FESTIVAL.

Soon will be available more information in this web.
